Tara woke up as she often did, sprawled across the matted carpet and scattered clothes. She always tended to move a lot in her sleep, resulting in her throwing herself on to the floor in the night. Maybe that's why she decided she wanted to take up rollerskating. Today is her first day so hopefully this will be the last night sleeping like that. Although, this will really be [[A Hesitant Start]] After somewhat cleaning her room to find her brand new equipment, Tara made her way to the bus for her rollerskating club. She had never really rollerskated before, except for the few times she went ice skating but skating on ice was a whole other world. She frowned deeply. Could she really do well at this? Would the other people make fun of her? Her thoughts swept her away until she found herself at the roller rink. She entered the rink, her equipment shoved into a bag way too small for it all. Her bright pink helmet was snapped around the handle of her dark backpack, it's rough exterior barely able to hold the kneepads and skates hidden inside it. She walked towards the benches that had a small sign on it, the club's name messily written on it. It looked like it was done quickly as if someone had forgetten to do it. Tara sat down on the wooden bench and began to put her kneepads and skates on. She was quite happy with how they looked, even with the implusion she had to start roller skating. Her late night shopping implusions almost never ended well, so this was a very pleasant surprise. Suddenly, [[Someone]] approached her."Hey," a large man approached her, skating to a stop. "Hi," Tara said hesitantly, snapping her helmet on. "You here for the club?" He said smoothly. [[Yes...]] [[No...]]"Yes," Tara said shyly, "I'm not very good but I want to learn how." The man smiled back at her. "Awesome. I'm Beck, the leader of the club." "Oh? I thought this was a girls only club." "It is but my friend's sister needed a coach and knew I had nothing better to do. And what can I say? Helping cute chicks like yourself learn how to roller derby sounds like a great time." Tara blushed from his comment but was hit by a fucking truck. "What do you mean roller derby?" Beck tilted his head to the side. "Did you not know this was for roller derby?" "No!" she exasperated. "I barely know how to skate! How am I supposed to hit people and do whatever the heck you guys do?!" "Well, I'm a great coach so you don't have to worry..." he gestured his hand towards me, wanting to know my name. [[My name is Tara]] [[Screw this BS]] "NO!" Tara spat out, waving her hands out in front of her. "Oh," The man said taken aback. "That's fine, we'll just need that bench once you're all set up." "Okay." She said quietly. [[The End]]You screwed it all up, my guy. Now you're rollerskating alone, except you don't know how to skate and keep falling over. You decide that maybe this impulse buy wasn't good after all. "Tara." She said confidently. "Well, Tara, you're in good hands. You want to get started?" I take a shakey breath in and grasp his hand, still outstretched towards me. "Let's do it." [[Doing it]]You decided that although you could talk to Beck, hitting people while on roller skates wasn't a good idea. You hit Beck's hand away and tried to leave the rink, but only fell onto your face as you were wearing your skates. You left crying, bruised, and ready for more impluse buying that would be a little more productive than this BS.Congrats, you successfully began your roller skating journey! Although as a beginner, you can barely stand on your 8 wheels, you're excited to begin and get some help from Beck. Who knows what could happen from now, right? ;) <script> function EmbedTwineUpdateHeight(){ var passage = document.getElementsByTagName("tw-passage")[0]; if (passage === undefined){//SugarCube passage = document.getElementById("passages"); } var newHeight = passage.offsetHeight; if(newHeight<500){newHeight=500;} window.parent.postMessage(["setHeight", newHeight], "*"); console.log(newHeight); } setTimeout(EmbedTwineUpdateHeight, 50); </script>
